With the participation of 130 scout members
Al-Bustan Silwan Scout Group carries out an open scouting day
Believing in the importance of its social commitment, and within the framework of a series of activities carried out throughout the year, Al-Bustan Scouts Group organized its first open scouting day in the garden of AlBustan Association in the center of Silwan, with 130 children and young scouts from Silwan in the presence of group leaders and members, side by side with members of Board of Directors of the Association.
The activity started by lining up the scouting queue and distributing members and participants into groups. The participants had the chance to know the life of the scouts and the concept of life in the open air, and how to deal with different circumstances. They also had a tour between the different scouting corners that included scout camps, flag raising league, connections, scout nodes, and some musical instruments.
In a speech of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kutaybah Odeh, in which he thanked the Scout leaders for their continuous efforts and intensive training and their follow-up to develop the scout group and their keenness to spread the concepts of the Scout and its spirit among their peers, he pointed out that “children and youth are the seedlings of volunteerism, the basis of development and progress, and the future of the holy Jerusalem community that they protect.”
From his part, the scout leader Hamouda Awadallah expressed his gratitude for the commitment of the scout members, hoping that he would see the group march at the forefront of the Jerusalemite teams and roam the streets of Jerusalem to hear the sound of their march from Silwan, promising the association and its administration that this dream would come true soon.
The activities were concluded with the final chant of the vanguards in the presence of Scouts leaders Yousef Jaber, Muhannad Odeh and Hammam AlNatsheh.
