Al Bustan Association Silwan concludes its first youth camp
Al-Bustan Silwan Association held its first youth camp in Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, south of Jerusalem. About 30 young youth took part in the camp during the five days between August 4 and 8, 2019.
The uniform was distributed on the first day with simple activities, before embarking on a tour to Ein Silwan and then to the neighborhoods of the town, where the tour was guided by the Chairperson of Al Bustan Association Siwan, Kutaybah Odeh, reviewing the most important information related to the town of Silwan in general and Al Bustan in particular.On the second day, the youth started their day with a lecture about idioms of the identity with the writer Ibrahim Johar. Then they set off to the displaced village of Sattaf with the young guide Bashar Abu Shamsieh, where the discussion was continued.
On the third day, Bethlehem was the destination, where the youth started their tour with a visit to BADIL center. They then went to Aida camp to learn more about the Palestinian camps with the general director of (Lajee’ Center), Salah Ajarma.The tour was on the fourth day to the abandoned villages: AlQabou, Beit Attab and Deir al-Sheikh, where Abu Shamsia talked about the history of Palestine with brainstorming events for the youth.On the last day, the activities of the youth summer camp concluded with the evaluation and distribution of certificates to the participating youth under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board of Directors Kutaybah Odeh, his deputy Haitham Abu Tayeh, the program coordinator Sara Qarain and the social worker of the association Rima Abdeen.
